A little about me

I have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After college, I started my profession as a Project Engineer with a focus in structural engineering. I found that a portion of my daily tasks were repetitive and I wanted to solve the monotony through automation so I could better focus on the problem solving process of my career. What better way of doing that than through programming?

I spent nights and weekends learning to program. At first, I started with Visual Basic but found myself very limited in processing tasks. I then migrated to Python combined with XML and Java. The mediums used to learn were YouTube, Coursera, StackOverflow and a lot of trial-and-error. Every resolved bug or run time error was a step closer to the task at hand - automation.

Over the course of four years, I developed a proprietary software within my company that allowed automation and production scaling. I found myself loving aspects of problem solving through programming more than my daily engineering tasks. My goals are to enter a development role in an industry that serves my engineering profession. I believe my unique engineering and programming back ground will help innovate my profession further.
